Carols 2025
Is there anything more festive than coming together to sing carols at Christmas? The aim of Carols at Bay Church is for an evening of awe and wonder, singing carols and a showcase of our creative crews with some incredible performances that leave us with the most festive feeling we could imagine!
For the first time, 2025 needed 2 opportunities to come to carols! 330 free tickets were booked and we started strong with absolute vibes in the car park with mulled wine, hot apple drinks and pigs in blankets! We opened the doors to faces we knew and so many faces we’d never seen before! You could feel the excitement and expectancy in the room.
The evening began with a video and original piece of music (you can watch it below if you missed it) and then we sang. And boy, did we sing! The band were incredible and getting to see the entire church raising their voices singing well known carols and bringing glory to God was something I won’t forget!
Lara and Damian performed “Little Blue”…it was breathtaking. Watching those guys perform together, Lara almost 9 months pregnant, was a real moment that is hard to describe!
Luna from Bay Youth at just 13 years old danced to “When You Arrived” - each time she practiced I cried and even remembering it now is enough to bring me to tears! I was blown away by her talent. Getting to watch her offer up her gifting with such passion was so moving.
Matt spoke on our Christmas theme - Tidings of Comfort and Joy and led us in the Carols candle moment - seeing the light spread across the church from one single flame, while Alessia sang “God Rest You Merry Gentlemen”. I can’t stress enough how scary it is to stand on the stage in front of so many people and sing alone but Alessia smashed each and every single note! She did such a beautiful job of holding that moment.
We finished the evening with JOY! Dancing, singing and sending people out with the joy of the Lord as their strength!
It was an amazing privilege to be a part of Carols, to work alongside such talented musicians and singers, seeing all the hardwork and preparation come together in an evening that brought glory to God and encouraged people to come and see what God had done. I was so proud of the Creative Crews that made Carols happen and I already, cannot wait for Carols 2026!
