SPREE 2025

On what felt like the hottest weekend known to man, we took 20 of our older Bay Kids to SPREE South West!

SPREE is a Christian Festival for children and youth run by South West Youth Ministries (SWYM) just outside Exeter. A small team of us went on the Friday to set up all the tents and prepare the camp before the Kids arrived. It was hot! Once the kids had arrived we had some food together before heading off to the first meeting which was all the kids in together - around 2000 young people from the South West!

The first night was a long one! The kids were all so excited which was lovely to see and hear! On Saturday morning the older boys tent got themselves up, dressed and ready for the day by 4.45am…so it was a long day as well!!

Saturday was all about the fun! the Kids went to a couple of sessions (smaller age groups this time). Over the weekend, the content covered the entire Bible, from God’s original purpose for us to His reconciliation. It was incredible to see the kids all engaging in the worship as well as the content, which was delivered with loads of fun and games…and gunge!

The SPREE site had so much for the kids to do; inflatables, light sabre combat, kareoke, a fun fair and a slip’n’slide and the kids really made the most out of these activities! We also had our own Bay Kids water fight on the Saturday afternoon to try and keep everyone cool!

Sunday finished up our weekend with the final meeting, the kids all jumping around in worship and waiting on the Holy Spirit. Again, it was really amazing to see the kids go all in with their worship and response to what was happening in the room.

The kids (and leaders) left completely filthy, with deeper friendships and full hearts, and utterly exhausted! We can’t to go back next year!
