24 Hour Prayer - Easter 2025

We believe that nothing happens without prayer and so at 8pm on Maundy Thursday, we began 24 hours of prayer, running until Good Friday. We invited prayers to sign up for an hour slot and either come to the creative room at Bay Central or pray at home.

In the lead up to Easter, we learnt what Jesus' actions at this time of year truly means for us to be saved from sin and death, lost and burdened, and brought into true freedom, forgiveness and purpose (Our series 'World Saver' is available on YouTube to watch again). We therefore kicked off our Easter weekend with an intentional 24 hours of prayer and reflection shaped by Psalm 103 "Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits...".

We encouraged our prayers to share anything they received during this time and have been totally blessed by how God has spoken through His people. This collection of reflections reveals several themes that weave together a vision of faith, transformation, perseverance, and readiness for growth. Here are the key themes that have emerged:

1. Divine Presence, Care, and Encouragement: God is present, personal, and intimately involved in the lives of His people—offering reassurance, protection, and encouragement.

2. Perseverance and Trust in God’s Timing: Faithfulness and endurance are vital. Believers are called to remain steadfast and trust in God's plan even when progress seems slow or unseen.

3. Identity, Holiness, and Inner Transformation: Rediscovering our identity in Christ and pursuing holiness in daily life is foundational. God calls individuals to inner transformation that impacts family, community, and church.

4. Awakening and Revival: There is an anticipation of spiritual renewal and revival, particularly among young people and those far from God.

5. Light Overcoming Darkness: God’s light—through His people—is meant to dispel spiritual darkness. The church is a carrier of hope, transformation, and glory.

6. Responsibility and Readiness: There is a call to action—to spiritual maturity, to purity, and to stepping fully into one's calling with intentionality.

7. The Role of Prayer and Unity: Prayer is central—both individually and communally—and binds the church in unity and spiritual covering. Persistent prayer is linked to breakthrough and peace.

8. Gratitude and Remembrance: Thankfulness is both a spiritual discipline and a foundation for future growth. Remembering past faithfulness stirs hope and mission.

9. Evangelism and Discipleship: There’s a clear missional heart—desire for the lost to encounter God and a readiness to disciple and nurture new believers.

10. Suffering and Glory: The Christian life involves surrender and sometimes suffering, but through it comes glory, transformation, and deeper intimacy with God.
